Has anyone experienced this issue before? Is there a easy/quick fix for this? It's not really feasible to swap that setting on/off depending on whether I'm navigating the interface or playing a game - especially when I want to allow my wife and children to be able to play games (no way I'm going to be able to explain convoluted procedures for getting everything to work every time they want to do anything). "Change desktop resolution to match streaming client" on gives me screwed up Big Picture Interface, but fully functioning gameplay. So, essentially I'm stuck with "Change desktop resolution to match streaming client" off gives me screwed up in-game view but fully functioning Big Picture Interface. ![]() Image takes up the entire screen, no black bars, full resolution, etc. ![]() Once the game is running, everything looks fine. If I just click through to start any game (again, Fall Guys as an example since it happened to be the most recent game played), the game starts up. Because I can only see the center slice, I cannot tell where in the interface I am (including which game, if any, is selected). This narrow sliver isn't a squashed image, but rather appears like a slice of the center area of the Steam interface. I have large black bars on both sides of the tv, with a narrow sliver of the Steam interface in the middle. The Earth Defense Force games are often overlooked thanks to their cheesy dialogue and less-than-awe-inspiring. Now, when on my the main "Big Picture mode" interface, the image is completely messed up. With the above solution in place, I go back to my TV to try it out. This is completely unplayable.Īfter doing some googling, I saw a purported solution: Go to Steam Settings -> Remote Play -> Advanced Host Options, and turn on the setting for "Change desktop resolution to match streaming client" (I also turned on "Use NVFBC", as I've heard others recommend this setting). So I have black bars on either side, and the game squished down very narrow in the middle. It looks as if the game is being rendered on my PC at 1080p, centered within the 5120px width of the monitor, then being sent to my 4k tv - including the black bars on either side of the game (necessary on my super ultrawide, but obviously not on my tv), thus leading the image to need to be "squished" to fit on screen. When I select a game to try playing (for example, Fall Guys), the game loads up, but is significantly squashed. I can see the entire window, navigate around, etc without any issues. That said, I've been having some weird issues with resolution.īy default, when I open Steam Link and am in what is essentially Big Picture mode, everything looks fine. It appears from what I've seen that the max resolution steam link supports is 1080p, which is fine. El primer paso es abrir Steam en el PC y comprobar que tienes Remote Play activo. So, I use a super ultrawide monitor (5120x1440) on my computer, and am trying to use Steam Link (specifically, the app on my android tv) on my (4k) tv.
